翔君はすごいですね。先日、ABC理論を解いたかもしれない望月教授も19歳でプリンストン大学を卒業したそうです。翔君も望月教授みたいにすごい人になるのかな。。応援しています。

Proof claimed for deep connection between primes

If it is true, a solution to the abc conjecture about whole numbers would be an ‘astounding’ achievement.

The usually quiet world of mathematics is abuzz with a claim that one of the most important problems in number theory has been solved.

Mathematician Shinichi Mochizuki of Kyoto University in Japan has released a 500-page proof of the abc conjecture, which proposes a relationship between whole numbers — a 'Diophantine' problem.

Shinichi Mochizuki, a professor at the Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences at Kyoto University, released a 500-page proof of the abc conjecture in number theory which involves the relationship between prime numbers, which I will attempt to describe as succinctly as possible below.

まず、前提として：

Pythagoras　は、
日本語では、ピタゴラス。
古代ギリシャの数学者、哲学者。英語だと、パイサーゴラス　って感じに発音します。

ついでに言うと、ピタゴラスの定理（ていり）は、
Pythagorean theorem　って言ってます。

Holy Grail　は、
日本語では、聖杯（せいはい）。
キリストが最後の晩餐（ばんさん）に用い、のちに、十字架の下でキリストの血を受けた杯（さかずき）。
Indiana Jones　インディ・ジョーンズの映画にも出てきた。

（あ、話ずれますが、日本語では、インディ・ジョーンズって言うみたいだけれど、英語だと、Indiana Jones　つまり、インディアナ・ジョーンズって言います。）

Roll Over　は、
どけ、どけ！って感じ。


つまり、

っていうのは、

（今まで、スポットライトを浴びてきたピタゴラスに対して）
そこのけ、そこのけ、ピタゴラス！
数学の「聖杯」が見つかったかもしれないんだぞ！
って感じに、言ってるわけです。

ピタゴラスには失礼な言い方なんだけど、それくらい、望月教授がスゴイって言っているわけです。
タイトルとして、とても目を引く書き方だなって思いました。
